Purpose: The Accounting Manager for Oil & Industrial Services (IFS) plays a vital role in overseeing accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting for the IFS segments within Crystal Clean. This position leads the periodic accounting close process, manages critical financial analyses, and contributes to company-wide financial strategies. Additionally, this role supports audit processes, implements new accounting standards, and engages in various accounting and analytical projects. Essential Duties: Provide leadership and supervision to a team of 3 members, including 2 Accountants and 1 Senior Accountant. Lead the accounting close process for the Oil & IFS segments, including additional quarterly and year-end tasks. Oversee the accounting for Oil Business inventory, ensuring accurate cost methodologies for materials and products. Manage transportation accounting operations and related financial analyses. Ensure allocations are precise and updated annually. Prepare monthly summaries and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for executive review. Collaborate with accounting and operational teams to guarantee compliance with US GAAP standards. Contribute to the preparation of materials for quarterly Board meetings. Support the drafting of segment commentary for monthly management meetings. Work alongside functional leaders to establish the annual budget and support quarterly forecasts. Analyze performance metrics of various locations to inform business decisions aimed at maximizing profits and operational efficiencies. Implement process improvements to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency. Play a significant role in the annual external audit and quarterly reviews by preparing documentation and facilitating auditor requests. Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards alongside other accounting leaders. Oversee accounting functions related to the Indianapolis Re-refinery, requiring quarterly site visits to understand its operations deeply. Education, Certificates, Licenses, or Designations: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or progress toward certification is advantageous. Specific Skills: Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting principles. Ability to supervise remote employees effectively. Leadership, mentoring, and supervisory capabilities. Business analytics and problem-solving skills. Capability to collaborate cross-functionally with non-accounting teams. A strong desire and ability to function as a team player. Quick grasp of new concepts necessary for the role. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
