AVP of Compliance & Risk Management, Chief Compliance Officer

Join Samaritan Medical Center, an accredited not-for-profit healthcare organization, as you take on the role of AVP of Compliance & Risk Management, Chief Compliance Officer in historic Watertown, New York.

The Position

1. As AVP of Compliance & Risk Management and Chief Compliance Officer, this leader will drive the strategic direction and oversight of the organizations enterprise-wide compliance program.
2. Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, this leader will oversee a team of three direct reports.
3. This leader will be responsible for rebuilding interdepartmental relationships and reestablishing Compliance as a collaborative and trusted partner. They will mentor and guide their direct reports while working to reinstate a "Just Culture" across the organization.
4. The ideal candidate is a goal-driven, hands-on leader who thrives with minimal oversight. They should possess deep expertise in compliance, demonstrate strong self-awareness, and actively seek opportunities for improvement. A passion for continuous learning and professional growth is essential.
5. This position requires full-time onsite work; remote work is not an option.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree is required; Masters degree preferred.
• Progressive experience in Corporate Compliance is required, including a minimum of three years in a Manager or Director-level role. A total of ten years of compliance experience is highly preferred.
• CCB certification or equivalent is preferred.

Compensation Range

• The base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $185,000 annually. In addition, a leader may be eligible for other benefits, including but not limited to health insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and bonuses. The total compensation for the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The base salary range listed above is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

• The organization encompasses Samaritan Keep Home, a 272-bed long-term care facility and Samaritan Summit Village, a 288-bed long-term care and assistant living facility. These facilities offer a full range of skilled nursing services including rehabilitation therapies, social services, and recreational activities.

• Watertown, New York, is a quaint city located within the Northern region of New York, approximately 70 miles north of Syracuse and approximately 30 miles south of Canada.

• Watertown also provides multiple shopping locations including the Salmon Run Mall, the Downtown Public Square which offers multiple locally owned shops and boutiques, and Paddock Arcade, one of the oldest covered shopping malls in the country.
• Watertown offers a wide variety of outdoor activities including boating, fishing, rafting, hiking, skiing, and camping at attractions such as Thompson Park, Black River, and Dry Hill Ski Area. Watertown also offers multiple golf courses and a historic downtown offering attractions including the Flower Memorial Library and Jefferson County Historical Society Museum.
