Job description: Deli/C-Store Associate

Reports to: Store manager

Position Type: Full-time or Part-time

Position Overview:

The Harvey Deli/CStore Associate works closely with the other employees to ensure the overall success of the convenience store and deli operations This person is a key staff member who works with the team in providing an excellent experience for customers. As with all staff, this person is a hands-on co-worker and role model.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Communicate with the Manager and staff regularly regarding inventory and operations.

· Act as a positive team member and work with staff to ensure tasks are completed.

· Provide excellent customer service and help ensure it is part of the culture.

· In time, help train new and existing employees.

· Potentially be responsible to open and close the store and deli when scheduled.

· Work with the Manager and other staff to determine inventory needs and potentially place appropriate orders.

· Support the maintenance of a safe and clean work environment.

· Help ensure the store and deli meet state health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

· Excellent communication skills and potential to lead and motivate a staff successfully.

· Related experience and/or the ability to understand the technical aspects of the job.

· Patience to learn and eventually teach and train.

· Enjoy the challenge of multitasking.

· Safeserv certification is very helpful.

· Be the ideal team player, blending humility, responsibility, passion for the work, and emotional intelligence.
