Job Overview The Director of Government Sales at T-Mobile is responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans to enhance revenue and expand market share within the government sector. This role involves leading and motivating a team of senior leaders to surpass sales targets, while also identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with state and local government agencies. By cultivating strong relationships with key government decision-makers and influencers, the Director ensures alignment of sales initiatives with organizational goals. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is crucial to support these initiatives and stay informed on industry trends and government regulations. Overall, the Director's efforts significantly contribute to T-Mobile's strategic expansion in the government sector. Job Responsibilities : Develops and implements strategic sales plans to enhance revenue and expand market share within the government sector Leads and motivates a team of senior leaders to surpass sales targets Identifies and pursues new business opportunities with state and local government agencies Cultivates strong relationships with key government decision-makers and influencers Ensures alignment of sales initiatives with organizational goals Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support sales initiatives and stay informed on industry trends and government regulations Education and Work Experience : Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field (Preferred) Master's/Advanced Degree Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field (Preferred) More than 10 years Experience in sales, consulting, and transformation initiatives within the government sector Preferred 7-10 years Field business to business sales management experience leading a team of field sales professionals selling to government segments Preferred 7-10 years Experience with negotiating and leading large multi-year deals of at least $30M Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Sales Management Expertise in overseeing sales operations and strategies, particularly in the government sector. (Required) Strategic Planning Ability to develop and execute long-term strategies to penetrate and expand in the government market. (Required) Leadership Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate a team of senior sales leaders towards achieving business goals. (Required) Relationship Management Proficiency in building and maintaining strong relationships with government officials and decision-makers. (Required) Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to support sales initiatives and comply with regulations. (Required) Communication Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective persuasion and relationship building. (Required) Business Acumen Strong understanding of the business environment and factors influencing the government sector. (Required) Regulatory Compliance Knowledge of government regulations and the ability to ensure all sales activities comply with relevant laws. (Required) Analytics Ability to analyze market trends and sales data to inform strategic decisions. (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications : Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM): Certification that demonstrates understanding and mastery of the competencies in contract management, particularly within the government. (Preferred) Project Management Professional (PMP) Internationally recognized professional certification that demonstrates the ability to manage projects, including complex government projects. (Preferred) At least 18 years of age Legally authorized to work in the United States Travel : Travel Required (Yes/No):Yes DOT Regulated : DOT Regulated Position (Yes/No):No Safety Sensitive Position (Yes/No):No Base Pay Range: $172,400 - $233,200Corporate Bonus Target: 25% The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
