Director of Software Quality Assurance – Fortify the Foundation of a Trusted Global Network

Location: Dallas, TX (100% On-Site)

As a key pillar of this mission, Quality Assurance is not an afterthought—it's a gatekeeper of integrity, security, and trust. We're seeking an elite Director of Software QA to embed excellence into every line of code, every protocol, and every experience. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, you'll lead QA as a strategic function, ensuring our platform meets the uncompromising demands of a global trust infrastructure.

Your Mission: Architect a Culture of Relentless Assurance

You will be responsible for shaping QA across the entire engineering organization—platform, protocol, and product. This is much more than test cases.

• Define the Quality Standard for the Next Internet: Architect the quality strategy for a first-of-its-kind network platform, setting the bar for resilience, precision, and predictability in an uncertain technical landscape.
• Build a QA Function from the Ground Up: Recruit, lead, and mentor a world-class QA team. You'll define hiring standards, cultural values, and operational rhythms from scratch
• Embed Quality Into Every Build Cycle: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Security leaders to inject quality into the dev cycle—not as a gate, but as a multiplier of speed and confidence.
• Own End-to-End Verification: Design and scale automation, performance testing, load testing, and failure simulation for complex systems including distributed networks, identity protocols, and secure data layers.
• Champion Security & Trust: QA is core to our identity. You'll work closely with our security team to validate cryptographic components, authentication flows, and attack surfaces.
• Codify Trust Through Test Infrastructure: Build and scale the testing frameworks, CI pipelines, and observability systems that enable high-velocity, high-confidence shipping across an extremely technical surface area.

What You Bring (The Profile of a Quality-Driven Builder):

• Relentless Attention to Detail: You obsess over the edge cases, break things so they don't break in the wild, and never sacrifice correctness for convenience.
• Deep Software QA Expertise: 10+ years in QA roles with significant leadership experience; mastery in both manual and automated testing for complex, distributed, or security-critical systems.
• Technical Sophistication: Strong engineering background (e.g., CS degree or equivalent experience), with the ability to understand and test APIs, protocols, backend systems, and infrastructure-level software.
• Track Record of Building From Zero: You've stood up QA orgs or functions from scratch—defining the tech stack, team shape, and test philosophy in high-growth or zero-to-one environments.
• Fluency in Automation: You've built or scaled test automation systems in languages like Python, Java, or Go, and understand how to integrate testing across CI/CD pipelines.
• High-Stakes Mentality: You've worked on systems where failure wasn't an option—finance, security, identity, infrastructure. You take quality personally.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: You've partnered with Engineering, Product, Security, and Compliance to ship safely and iterate quickly, even in uncharted territory.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience in identity management (IAM), cryptography, or protocol-level testing.
• Built QA functions for developer platforms or API-first products.
• Worked in a regulated or compliance-heavy industry where testing is mission-critical.
• Familiarity with fuzz testing, fault injection, and adversarial testing methodologies.
