Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client on their search for a Production Planner at their Orlando FL facility.

This manufacturer offers application tooling to the aircraft and aerospace industries - lots of work with Defense Contractors. Compensation: $80,000-100,000

What You Will Do:

Coordinate and optimize manufacturing schedules in a high sales-mix environment. Will be responsible for planning and releasing production orders for scheduling. Will also monitor the production process to ensure timely delivery of products while maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs.

  • Execute planner workbench tasks on a daily basis, ensuring orders are accurately planned and released.
  • Communicate job priorities to the Production Scheduler on a daily/weekly basis to ensure critical items are prioritized.
  • Monitor the status of critical sub-components and external purchase orders; resolve scheduling issues, delays, or bottlenecks.
  • Establish and review safety stocks for critical components and end items to ensure operational endurance.
  • Assist in the continued improvement of production planning processes to enhance productivity and reduce lead times; interact with shopfloor supervisors and production employees (as needed) to ensure accurate communication.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas across the organization to develop best practices for planning, supply chain, quality, and machine efficiency.
  • Analyze production data and generate reports on performance, capacity and forecast accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP system; take action to log and correct inaccuracies (as needed.)

Education and Work Experience:

  • At least 4 years of US Military experience required
  • 2-3 years of Planning/Scheduling experience in a Manufacturing/Machining/Assembly environment required.
  • Strong understanding of production planning principles, supply chain concepts, and inventory management required
  • Experience in ERP systems (i.e. Infor Suite, SAP, Oracle, etc.) required
