Job Description

Type of Patients on Unit: cardiac telemetry, post cardiac and thoracic surgeries

Weekend Hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted): Every to every other weekend

Call Requirements: None

Float Requirements: First to float, will float to other med/surg units as needed

Personality Fit: flexible & easygoing, teamwork-oriented

Number of Beds: 36

Patient Ratio: 1:4 day shift, 1:5 night shift

EMR: EPIC

MUST BE ABLE TO READ TELE STRIPS

 

Requirements:

2YRS+ Exp Working in Specialty 

2YRS+ Exp Working Only in Acute Care Setting 

Must Have Skills/Exp in Strong Cardiac Telemetry 

ACTIVE BLS (AHA)

ACTIVE ACLS (AHA)

Float Requirements: First to float, will float to other med/surg units as needed

Preferred Skillset/Exp:

• Cardiac surgery (CABG/valve replacement/post aortic dissection repair), thoracic surgery (VATS, wedge resection, lobectomy), comfort with chest tubes, temporary epicardial pacemakers. Post-TAVR patient.
• Medical treatment Cardiology: Heart Failure, Pulmonary Hypertension. Familiar with Amio, insulin, dobutamine, nitro, milrinone, diltiazem
• Surgical/trauma/tele
