Colon Cancer Awareness in Nigeria (Go Blue)

The estimated incidence of colorectal cancer is rising among underserved population.

Through our Go Blue campaign, we are thrilled to spread awareness among teenagers in Nigeria about this deadly disease.

Colorectal Cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the United States. American Cancer Society‘s estimates for the number of colorectal cancers in the United States for 2023 are: 106,970 new cases of colon cancer. 46,050 new cases of rectal cancer.

Some of the early signs or things to watch out for includes but not limited to:

  • A persistent change in your bowel habits, including diarrhea or constipation or a change in the consistency of your stool.
  • Rectal bleeding or blood in your stool.
  • Persistent abdominal discomfort, such as cramps, gas or pain.
  • A feeling that your bowel doesn’t empty completely.
  • Weakness or fatigue.
